BDO Facilities M&A team have acted as lead advisor to Alcuin Capital Partners and the shareholders, including management, of Martinspeed Limited on its sale to Crozier, an Iron Mountain Incorporated business and a global leader in fine arts storage and logistics. Martinspeed is one of the leading providers of art storage, logistics, and installation in the United Kingdom.
With secure storage facilities in London and Heathrow Airport, Martinspeed has a strong reputation among galleries and private art collectors, as well as serving museums and auction houses. This includes national and international logistics capabilities for the safe and secure movement of art, as well as art installations of any scale.
The acquisition will allow Crozier to build on its existing presence in London, the world’s second largest market for art storage and logistics after New York City. By acquiring Martinspeed, Crozier will gain immediate operational scale and expand its capabilities to include crating, specialist art installation teams, global freight forwarding and a pan-European transport fleet.
“The BDO M&A team, led by Satvir, have worked tirelessly to support us throughout the sale process. Their hard work and international reach enabled us to identify and access the right buyer pool for Martinspeed. From the outset, BDO ran an efficient sale process despite the Covid-19 pandemic and we were impressed both with their expertise and commitment from start to finish to achieve a successful result. It was a pleasure working with the team and we are very pleased with the outcome."
