Harland and Wolff (H&W) is one of the largest and most versatile heavy industry operators in Europe, supporting the maritime, offshore and renewable sectors. H&W are best known for constructing the Titanic.

H&W’s parent, Fred Olsen, was placed in to bankruptcy and was no longer able to support its subsidiary investment. A decline in market conditions meant that a new investor was required to support the business during a period of large infrastructure projects in the pipeline being brought to fruition.
