Dr Tauni Lanier

Tauni is a recognised expert in the fields of sustainable finance and sustainable development in the finance sector. Subject matter expert – sustainability strategy and sustainability risk/opportunities, materiality and sustainable finance – deriving business value and intelligence from sustainability knowledge and data.

Deep knowledge in identifying overlaps and harmonising sustainability across the business strategy.

She is an investment banker and has worked in Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, the USA and France for organisations such as JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson on the debt side and in structured finance. She became the first managing director of the DJSGI. She has worked with such organisations as WBCSD, the Global Reporting Initiative, and corporate responsibility and corporate governance ratings. During her time as Executive Director of IMPACT2030, she worked with the UN on the successful delivery of the SDGs, deploying resources via corporate human capital and with City projects. She founded Eco-Capital partnership, combining experience in environmental and corporate finance to create a unique solution based business in non-traditional risk assessment and investment impact in investment decisions on the forefront in investment advisement, structuring, and due diligence in climate change, impact investing, social justice and environmental asset project development. She recently served as the Chief Sustainability Officer at World Wide Generation (WWG). WWG a fintech company founded to facilitate the successful achievement to fulfil the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In her role at WWG she constructed the building blocks of the ESGenome part of the listing requirements of the Singapore Stock Exchange, which went live in October 2022.

She is currently co-director of our Sustainability & ESG hub. Her focus in the HUB is on Sustainable Finance, including green and sustainable bonds/loans, and Digital solutions.

She is serving as the non-executive Director at Carbon Tracker, and has served as Senior Advisor for ITU and advisory board member for the International Sustainable Finance Centre (ISFC).
