Steve Bladen

I work in the Public Sector Assurance (PSA) team based in Baker Street, London, delivering audit and assurance services to entities across local government and the National Health Service. I have more than 20 years' experience in the sector and in that time, I have built a deep understanding of the issues, challenges and opportunities faced by the public sector.

I am licensed as a key audit partner by the ICAEW and am therefore one of a small number of people nationally able to sign external audit opinions on public sector financial statements. In addition, I have extensive experience of value for money audit and responding to local electors' questions and objections and grant certification work, including the Housing Benefit Assurance Process.

I am also the Local Head of Audit for the PSA team and I represent this team on the firm's Audit Quality Council.

I represent the firm on several working groups led by the National Audit Office that contribute to the development of a consistent, high quality audit approach across the public sector. Therefore, I am able to share relevant knowledge and expertise to the benefit of our audited entities, and my skills are well placed to grow the PSA teams portfolio.

Work-life balance is really important to me. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, travelling, running, volunteering as an Event Director at my local parkrun and, occasionally zig-zagging my way around a golf course.
