Stephen Cooney

Steve is a Principal in our Value Creation Services team.  He has over 25 years of experience of advising management teams and private equity houses on the operational issues associated with acquisitions, divestments and distressed businesses.

His area of expertise covers identfying and implementing transformation programmes to improve EBITDA, delivering business integrations and carve outs and undertaking operational and technical due diligence.  Steve’s experience includes defining future state target operating models, multi-site operational restructuring assignments as well as supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives for growing businesses. His experience encompases a wide range of industry sectors and international locations. 

Prior to BDO he worked in EY’s Transaction Advisory Services team and gained management and consulting experience from Ford Motor Company’s European Business Strategy team, PA Consulting Group and Federal Mogal. He holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and is also a Chartered Engineer.
