Ross specialises in commercially led cross-border corporate structuring and financing. He advises on the optimisation of capital structures and value chains, as well as the structuring of mergers, acquisitions, and divestments. Ross has a particular expertise in the taxation of intellectual property, and the ongoing impact of disruptive trends in the macro-economic environment on business models and tax strategies.

He has supported his clients in designing and implementing new operating models to mitigate emerging business risk and maximise new opportunities in a rapidly evolving international tax environment. Ross has deep experience supporting clients in engaging with tax authorities to obtain advance certainty where available and mitigate the risk of future controversy, as well as resolving historical controversy situations.

Ross is the leader of the BDO global Pillar Two team, advising clients in all jurisdictions on how to address the significant complexity that Pillar Two introduces including technical, operational and technological challenges.

He has delivered pragmatic, innovative tax structuring across all industry sectors, with a particular focus on technology, media, retail and consumer markets, and life sciences.
