Olivia Manase

I lead the Quality Review and Support Team (QRST), providing audit technical support to engagement teams on complex matters. Our function is pivotal in the firm's ambition to consistently deliver high-quality audits. We achieve this by offering real-time support to teams working on our most complex audits, primarily those in-scope for AQR, through in-flight reviews of audit files.

With over 20 years of experience in the audit profession, including 13 years in client-facing roles across the UK, USA, and Zimbabwe, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role. My 8+ years in various Audit Technical roles began at EY, where I was responsible for implementing the strategic audit quality initiatives for the Financial Services Audit Quality function.

To stay effective, I am constantly learning, often diving into various news sources and technical updated like FRC publications.

I actively promote a unifying culture as co-chair of the CEDAR London network. I am passionate about nurturing young talent, and I participate in the CEDAR mentoring program and I also informally mentor young people in my community.

Maintaining a good work-life balance is crucial to me - I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and our two daughters. Our weekends are often filled with vibrant family gatherings and braais, thanks to our large extended family. On Sunday afternoons, when not enthusiastically cheering for our daughters at swimming meets or drama performances, you can find me unwinding at home, indulging in an episode or two of 'Columbo' - a personal favourite.
