Nikhil Lalsodagar

I am a Partner within the Financial Services Technology Risk Assurance team, specialising in IT and Business risk assessments to enhance audit quality and efficiency within external audits and service organisation reports (ISAE 3402, ISAE 3000, AAF 01/20, SOC1, SOC2 etc). This is to enable an IT-driven audit approach to maximise value for our clients and audit entities.

My team and I have the skills to assess the entire IT environment (applications, databases, operating systems, networks, interfaces etc). This includes data flow mapping, gap analyses, controls assessments, risk materialisation, IT governance etc.

I am a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA, ISACA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP, ISC2) and am a co-lead in the firm's initiatives in auditing Emerging Technologies, including AI. Through these skills and my extensive experience, I focus on bridging the gap between IT, Operations and Finance.

As the firm's technology lead in Fintech and Capital Markets, I focus on ensuring that we work collaboratively with our clients and audit entities to give tailored and pragmatic solutions relevant to their environment. This is part of my core purpose of helping you succeed and delivering on exceptional service.

Beyond this, a passion of mine is Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. I am actively focused in driving positive change through a number of programmes such as mentoring (30% Mentoring Club, BDO's race and ethnicity network known as CEDAR) as well as leading on the firm's Working Parents and Carers Network. It is essential for me to work towards improving the world to create a better environment for the next generation.
