Matthew Glover

My career has been spent working on their tax affairs with professional service firms and investment managers in the UK and internationally, managing complex tax reporting obligations and the tax aspects of operating and running a business. I spend the majority of my time these days advising clients on how structure their business, whether that is on a merger or acquisition, international expansion or moving into a new market. 

I enjoy building long-lasting relationships with clients alongside my team and supporting their businesses and people throughout the life of their business and focus on delivering practical solutions. My experience has taught me the value of combining technical expertise with delivering clear advice which allows my clients to make informed decisions in the real world. I have received feedback on my ability to deliver pragmatic and commercial guidance, acting as a trusted and valued advisor. 

I am lucky to have joined BDO as a graduate of and received the guidance of many excellent people within the firm throughout my career. This has taught me the importance of working in and building a team which collaborates, supportive and encourages and challenges people to develop their careers and do the best for their clients.

I have played sport throughout my life and still find time to make it onto the football field and golf course and although it is getting more difficult, the competitive streak is still there. I find the to exercise and time outside provides me with an opportunity to relax and recharge as well as spend time with friends.
