Executive summary
I started my career with PwC in Madrid in 2001, where I audited CIPS inbound and public sector entities. In 2004, I transferred to PwC London, where I had the opportunity to audit FTSE 100 CIPS/TICE groups. I have extensive experience working with international business, complex financial reporting, corporate governance matters as well as reviewing the work of component auditors across the world.
In 2007 I went on secondment to a global project in the USA to develop the audit tool of the future, assisting on the controls’ libraries and methodology. Once the tool was launched world-wide, I helped in the UK roll-out tutoring the audit practice while I continued to audit FTSE 100 entities.
In 2014 I transferred to the National Risk and Quality team, where I have undertaken a variety of strategic quality initiatives related roles including, real time assurance reviews, supporting the FRC external regulatory reviews, managing the audit and risk management helpline, conducting risk management due diligences in Africa and CEE to support PwC UK investments in the Network and tutoring in several R&Q training events. In the last 5 years my focus was on leading the internal quality review programme, reviewing approximately 180 audit and non-audit assurance engagements with a team of 250+ reviewers, performing RCA and action planning, ISQC (UK) 1 testing and leading on the implementation of the new quality standard ISQM (UK) 1.
I joined BDO in June 2022 as the Root Cause Analysis Partner to assist continuously improving quality in BDO’s responsible growth journey.
