Laurie Hannant

Born and bred in the East Midlands, I have over 15 years’ experience, leading complex audits for clients going through change and transformation, supporting businesses from fast-growth SMEs to global listed businesses.

I lead BDO’s consumer markets sector in the Midlands and have significant experience working with UK and international brands. I also have a personal drive and commitment to develop people and teams to achieve their own objectives and is currently People Leader for Audit and Head of our Nottingham office.

Leading teams on the audits of listed, large multinational and entrepreneurially minded businesses, I have extensive audit and technical knowledge including complex areas such as fair value accounting, disposals, impairment, financial instruments and IFRS/US GAAP conversions. I have also been involved in projects advising entities on IPO-readiness, improvement in internal controls and the impact of changes in accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.

I also advise businesses on how to navigate audit regulatory changes and audit tender process. This includes multinational FTSE 350 companies on financial reporting and corporate governance.
