Executive summary

Dawn manages voluntary disclosures to HMRC to rectify tax errors and resolves serious tax investigations or long running tax disputes with HMRC. She is a CEDR qualified mediator and uses those mediation skills to resolve disputes, often working alongside other professionals including the regular tax accountant, lawyers, trustees and barristers. Dawn is also a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser and Trust & Estate Practitioner (STEP member).

Dawn specialises in UK personal tax and cross border issues arising from internationally mobile families and businesses. Her recent work has focused on changes in HMRC powers, data exchange and disclosure opportunities. Dawn is a recognised expert on tax administration matters in the UK.

Dawn is a regular conference speaker, author and commentator, including Financial Times, Telegraph, and BBC Money Box. She regularly contributes to articles and news stories ranging from tackling tax evasion, to filing personal tax returns and the implications of Treasury budget announcements.

In 2018, Dawn was announced as New Partner of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards. In 2023, Dawn was recognised by Spear’s as the Private Client Accountant of the Year.

Dawn leads our National Tax Dispute Resolution team which includes professionals dealing with the full range of tax support for private clients, small businesses through to large multinational corporates. The team supports any UK taxpayers in disagreement with HMRC or needing support to make disclosure to HMRC.
