Chris Pooles

I lead the Business Assurance team for BDO in the Thames Valley & West region covering our Reading and Bristol offices, where we have around 200 audit professionals delivering robust and high-quality audits to a wide range of businesses in the mid-market.

Focussed on delivering an “intelligent” audit process and bringing insight to management, I understand the benefits of transparent reporting for businesses and their stakeholders. I have significant experience in public company audits (including IPO’s), private equity backed businesses and private companies. I have particular sector expertise in manufacturing, technology, and professional services but have worked with a much broader range of businesses.

Almost all of my audit engagements require international co-ordination in some respect, utilising our colleagues across the BDO International network which spans over 160 countries. I am a US licensed audit partner and have significant experience in USGAAP/GAAS reporting assignments.

Outside of work I am a keen sports fan. I play golf badly and enjoy watching or, where my fitness still allows, participating in most other sports for the social as well as the competitive aspects.
