Catherine Whitelam

I provide holistic tax services to large corporate businesses across Yorkshire and the North East of England. I take pride in working with listed, overseas-owned, private equity-backed and privately owned groups to help them succeed while managing their tax risks, tax strategy and compliance obligations. With my expertise of relevant technical developments, I actively listen to my clients’ needs to make tax complexity simple, to support them with their robust commercial decision-making.

I can do this because I am curious: investing time in both following the dynamic world of change that is the global tax environment and also making sense of the landscape my clients are working in through rich conversation.

I have extensive experience of working with in-house tax functions to outsource and/or co-source services to add value to those groups who have technical expertise to draw on in their own teams. I chair a well-respected external event in this community in the North East of England.

I have advised in the region for over 22 years and am ACA qualified. My purpose in life inside and outside of work is to develop others and myself, and to champion quality and inclusion.

I love words, reading (and discussing) fiction, Sheffield Wednesday FC, walking and running in the great outdoors and sharing some or all of these passions with my husband, daughter and son - as well as friends, contacts and colleagues.
