Alex Barnes

I'm a Partner and Head of Insurance with over 18 years' experience in the insurance and wider financial services sector. I work with a wide range of insurance participants including Lloyd's syndicates, mutual insurers, brokers, run-off insurers and international insurance groups.

I currently act as audit partner to Lloyd's syndicates, international insurance groups, friendly societies, run-off insurers and insurance brokers. I also lead the provision of outsourced internal audit services to insurance groups and help insurance businesses with the implementation of new accounting standards, including IFRS 17.

I wrote the Chartered Institute of Insurers' Accounting guide and present regularly on insurance accounting matters. I sit on Lloyd's of London's Audit Working Party Group and have served on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland's Board for England and Wales.
